Juicy red fruit, strawberry and hint of spice and white pepper with a crisp dry finish
Our Oakwood Shiraz spans over 4.2 hectares and was established in 2017 comprising of the 1654, 470 clones and cuttings from 130-year-old vines from the Eden Valley. Positioned on a steep northerly aspect of 380-425 metre altitude this block has deep clay soils with quartz outcrops.
Our first vintage of the Shiraz grape in 2019 was handpicked from the 1654 clone. Whole bunch pressed with 24 hours on skins to allow for a soft pink appearance. The juice was fermented until wine became dry to bring out the complexities of flavour from the shiraz grape. Bottled in July 2019 this wine will be a perfect addition to your summer party.
